I've just got the one Xbox 360 controller, and wanted to expand my couch co-op capabilities with original XBOX controllers I've got lying around. I've got one physical adapter soldered up, will make more if/when I can get this working. I gather that the software solution for this in the past has been XBCD, which worked great for Windows 7, and was broken in Windows 8 (because of driver checks) with some people being able to work around it. I haven't been able to find info with Windows 10.
So far I've tried installing XBCD after rebooting and turning off driver signature enforcement (and after installation rebooting normally). The install turned out all right, the devices menu recognized both my Xbox 360 controller and my XBOX controller, but the games I tried did not recognize either controller (the Xbox 360 controller had worked previously). I opened XBCD settings long enough to see that it was registering the axes and buttons for my 360 controller (didn't think to verify my XBOX controller). I uninstalled XBCD, but the 360 controller still didn't work; I updated Windows 10 to build 1511 and that got the 360 controller to work again.

I want to try to get this working again, but wanted to ask for advice before possibly making the working controller inoperative again without being able to fix it. Has anyone done this? Any ideas on where I went wrong?
