    Sino SDS2-2M, DRO

    I have a Sino SDS2-2M DRO. I need a user manual. Anyone know where I can get a PDF?
    Also, I'm going to use it on a lathe. Does anyone know how to have an axis readout twice the travel for diameter turning?

    I have the manual in hand. It is quite the novel, 115 pages. what besides diameter vs. radius do you want to know? I will send pics of specific areas for you.

    Joec, I am specifically interested in how to set how many significant figures (number of digits past the decimal point), how to set readout to double scale movement. Those are the most important for now. By the way, when I zero out a reading and manual put a reading into the dro it always rounds to the nearest .005. Is this normal??? I would like to turn a diameter, measure the actual diameter, and set the scale accordingly. This rounding thing seems odd, but I'm new to DRO's

    Since joe has the manual, I'm sure that he can help you. I have that same DRO and the diameter vs. radius issue it handled by changing what SINO refers to as the resolution. This is done in the setup procedure.
    As far as I know, it is not possible to change the significant digits to the right of the decimal on the SINO. There's nothing on that in my manual. I solved the problem by banding a piece of aluminum sheet to cover the past two digits. I painted it black and I can't notice it.
    The manual is somewhat difficult to decipher, but once you get the hang of it, you will be able to set the unit up for diameter turning.
    You should be able to purchase a manual from CDCOTool Co. in Shaumberg, Illinois since he is a dealer for SINO.

    Thanks for all the help. U have the manual data needed. Here's a new problem. I turn power on while holding down the decimal button, but the machine will not go into setup mode. It doesn't enter setup mode. It doesn't matter when I press the decimal key or for how long. Any ideas why I can't get setup mode to activate?
