Usb Loader Gx Install Guide
USB Loader GX is a program you can install in the Homebrew channel of a soft-modded Nintendo Wii. It allows you to connect a USB hard drive to the Wii and back up your games to the hard drive. The games can then be loaded and played directly from the hard drive. This is especially convenient for parents with small children, as it keeps the original game discs safe from scratches and other damage.
Turn of your Wii and open the front cover. Press on the SD card to release it, then pull it straight toward you to remove it.
Insert the SD card into the SD slot of your computer, or use an SD card adapter, if necessary. The computer will open a window asking what you would like to do with the files. Click “Do Nothing.”
Download the USB Loader GX Easy Installer (see 'Resources'). Choose a location to save the file.
Double-click the file to begin the installer. Click “Next” and leave the default options checked on the “Choose Components” screen, then click “Next” again.
Change the drive letter in the “Destination Folder” box to the drive letter of your SD card. For example, change “F:appsusbloader_gx” to “G:appsusbloader_gx” if your SD card is drive G. Click “Install” to begin installing the files and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Remove the SD card from your computer and insert it back into the slot on the front of the Wii. Close the front panel.
Connect your USB hard drive to the bottom USB port on the back of the Wii. Only the bottom port supports USB hard drives.
Turn on the Wii and aim the cursor at the “Homebrew Channel” icon and press “A.” Aim the cursor at “USB Loader GX” and press “A,” then aim at “Load” and press “A” to launch USB Loader GX.
Insert a game disc and choose “Install” to load the game from the disc onto the hard drive. Continue installing as many games as you like.

So I'm encountering issues with USB loader GX and Wii Flow (and possibly the homebrew channel?), all of which I am having separate issues with.
Issue 1: I successfully installed nintendont, got it working, and am able to boot gamecube games off of a usb hard drive from the nintendont application in the homebrew channel. This is nice, but I would prefer to boot them from a USB loader that has more features. I set up USB loader GX and got wii games working with it (my hard drive is partitioned). While I can see the gamecube games in ISB loader GX, its trying to load them via SD card (probably because i installed dios-mios before nintendont). anyways, the problem that I am having is the option to select which application loads my gamecube games by default is just not there at all. I was able to update USB loader GX over wifi, and the option still does not appear. not sure where to go from there.

Issue 2: I gave up on USB loader GX and tried installing Wii Flow instead. when i try to boot it up it brings me to a black screen that flashes some text and then proceeds to close. the error it gives tells me to install the latest IOS58 version and update the homebrew channel. This brings me to issue 3 but we'll get there in a minute. I think the real issue here is that I'm using a bad and/or outdated wiiflow installer. Can anyone give me the correct installer or tell me where to get it? and if I do have the correct installer, how do i install IOS58?

Issue 3: While trying to rectify the issue with Wiiflow one of the things it told me to do was update the homebrew channel. It's my understanding that the homebrew channel will alert me if there's an update available, which it has not done. I know I am connected to wifi since the signal on the homebrew channel says so as well as I was able to update USB loader GX. Is there a way to manually update this?
